The Renewable Energy Association (REA) has launched a guide offering advice to local authorities to help boost EV uptake.

Sponsored by Alfa Power, the Taking Charge publication calls on councils to create ‘Energy Boards’ and appoint an ‘EV Champion’. These ideas are expected to help promote greener travel in the council’s region, and improve the presence of EVs in those areas.

The guide also brings together a number of other pieces of information, including guidance on elements such as the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS), Plug-in Car Grants (PiCG), the Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS), and On-Street Residential Chargepoint Scheme (ORS).

Guide backers Alfa Power have recently launched into the EV market, with the company offering charge points for both commercial and domestic usage, and public charging with future-proofed rapid chargers.

Alfa Power is offering different levels of support, from simple charge point sales, to a complete ‘turnkey’ solution for land owners.

You can find out more about the publication on Alfa Power's website here. Alternatively, to find existing EV charge points, visit Zapmap on desktop or app.
