Audi has released the new A6 50 TFSI e saloon, continuing the roll-out of plug-in hybrid models across its core range.

Featuring an electric range of up to 34 miles, the A6 50 TFSI e uses a 2.0 litre petrol engine and 105 kW electric motor for a combined 299 hp, powering all four wheels.

Performance figures see a 0-62 mph time of 5.5 seconds and 152 mph top speed, whilst efficiency is rated at almost 150 MPG, with CO2 emissions of 35 g/km.

Economy can be maximised with a number of systems fitted to the A6. Drive mode select includes EV for pure-electric driving, Hold to save battery charge, and Hybrid, which uses the car’s predictive systems for improved efficiency.

Charging takes around two and a half hours to top-up the 14.1 kWh battery, thanks to a 7 kW on-board charger. Connected car systems can be accessed via the myAudi app, to select charging times, pre-condition the car, and check battery charge.

Company car drivers could be tempted by the 10% BIK rate the new PHEV Audi qualifies for. Available to order now, the Audi A6 50 TFSI e starts at £52,790.
