GM has announced that the Chevrolet Bolt will be sold in Europe, however, there will be no right-hand version for the UK market.

The prospect of a £20,000 battery-electric hatchback with a 200-mile range is an extremely exciting one. There has been a buzz about the EV since it was unveiled in Detroit earlier this year. Therefore, this news will come as a disappointment to the EV community in the UK.

General Motors boss Mary Barra said the Bolt is “an electric vehicle for everyone” (obviously apart from those living in the UK). She went on to say it will “raise the bar for EVs” and that “This is not a science experiment; it’s an EV for the real world, designed for everyday drivers,”.

Lets hope that Tesla will not make the same decision with their “affordable” Model 3 due for release in 2017.
