Energy firm Engie has launched a new product in the UK, aimed at EV drivers. The Engie EV Home green electricity tariff offers 100% renewable electricity and free driving miles as part of an ‘end-to-end charging solution’ for EV drivers.

Having already installed 50,000 charge points around the world, the tariff is available exclusively to EV drivers, and packages together the green tariff with free mileage – with home EV charge points available to customers too.

The mileage allowance takes the form of an introductory credit to the customer’s home energy bill, which can be taken by itself or with the offer or a reduced cost EV charging unit.

Customers can either buy a home charge point for £249, or if taking up the Engie EV Home tariff, the cost of a fully installed unit reduces to £179.

Wilfrid Petrie, CEO of ENGIE in the UK & Ireland, said: “It’s imperative that we all play our role in protecting the environment – we take this responsibility very seriously at Engie, it’s at the heart of everything we do, and we also recognise that simplicity is key to helping people switch to green ways of living.

“We are offering our customers a convenient, end-to-end charging solution for complete peace of mind. We will deliver Engie charge points, and provide our own specialist installation, servicing and warranty, backed with a 100 per cent renewable electricity tariff and free driving miles.

“We are keen to not only be a part of the EV revolution but also to make it easy for people to lead a greener life. With more and more EVs entering the market, we believe our end-to-end charge point and tariff solution will help more people to switch to EV.”
