Reservations are now being taken for the new Fiat 500e, with the pure-electric city car boasting a range of up to 199 miles on a charge.

The Fiat 500e La Prima makes its debut today (Monday 8th June) and uses a 42 kWh battery to achieve a near-200 mile driving range. This powers an 87 kW electric motor, with a 0-62 mph time of 9.0 seconds, and a top speed of 93 mph.

Three driving modes – Normal, Range, and Sherpa – will help drivers achieve distances required. Sherpa is an Eco mode, whilst range boost brake energy recuperation to allow for ‘one-pedal driving’.

Charging is carried out through a CCS inlet, and rapid charging speeds at up to 85 kW is possible, keeping charge times down to half an hour or so. AC charging is possible at up to 11 kW, and the launch version of the 500e comes with a home charge point.

Equipment levels are excellent for a small car, with advanced driver assistance systems, wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay connectivity, and connected car systems familiar to EV owners.

Prices for the Fiat 500e launch model start at £26,995 (inc. Plug-in Car Grant and home charge point), with no deposit required for a reservation. Expressions of interest are not-binding, but will see those putting reservations down some of the first to be contacted to place an order.
