Franklin Energy has been successful in its bid for the new Energy Saving Trust in Scotland’s charge point funding scheme. This allows Scottish organisations to have EV charging points installed with up a subsidy of up to 100 per cent coming from Transport for Scotland.

Three different types of charge point are on offer from Franklin Energy – domestic, fast and rapid chargers – allowing companies and groups to tailor their charging infrastructure to their needs. Firms looking to electrify their fleet can benefit from the subsidised charging points to further reduce operating costs.

The winning tender was a consortium bid in collaboration with Franklin Energy’s installation partner, The Phoenix Works. Franklin Energy has selected three manufacturers to provide the hardware, including ABL Surlum (domestic), Ensto (Fast) and ABB(rapid).

Company founder Rob Byrne said: “We are delighted to support Transport for Scotland to help accelerate the uptake of ultra-low emission vehicles in Scotland. With Franklin Energy’s vast experience in EV charging project delivery and Phoenix Works’ reputable history of installing over 3,500 charging points to date, we are excited to spread our wings and deliver EV charging projects across Scotland.”

Franklin Energy also runs the LiFe charging network with points installed in Liverpool and Manchester Q Park car parks. For more information on how to apply for charge point funding if you are a Scottish organisation, visit Franklin Energy or The Phoenix Works‘ websites.
