Chargemaster has announced that it is set to install 150 EV charge points in Lancashire for the region’s county council.
The units will be installed from early 2018, and available to use on the POLAR network. The 150 new points will include 18 Ultracharge rapid chargers, which offer CCS, CHAdeMO and Type 2 charging, and 66 dual socket fast units, for use with a Type 2 connector.
The charge points are being installed for Lancashire County Council, after the local aurthority put in a successful bid to the Department for Transport’s Highway Maintenance Challenge Fund.
David Martell, CEO of Chargemaster, said: “It’s fantastic that we have been selected by Lancashire County Council to help make it easier to own and drive an electric vehicle in the county, by increasing its charging infrastructure.
“There are already over 1,000 electric vehicle drivers in Lancashire and that number is expected to grow considerably over the coming years. We are committed to ensuring that electric vehicle drivers have access to charging points right across the country, so we will be improving coverage across the region.”
As the charge points go live, you will be able to find them on Zap-Map desktop and app by using the network filters. Since the units will be under the POLAR network, dynamic data will be available to see, showing whether it is in use or available.
