Mitsubishi has announced their ‘game-changing’ Outlander PHEV remains the subject of high demand in the UK. Importantly, UK dealerships will have the supply to match that demand as more deliveries arrive into Bristol’s Portbury Docks.

The Outlander Plug-in hybrid has been a popular choice since its release in April this year. In fact, the first arrivals into the UK in May and June were sold before the ships arrived.

Whilst being a spacious, full-sized family 4×4 SUV, it is more economical and environmentally-friendly than the majority of small cars.

By using both electrical and petrol power, the plug-in hybrid emits just 44g/km of CO2 and has an official fuel consumption figure of 148mpg. The Outlander PHEV can run solely on zero-emission electric power for an estimated 32.5 miles, which makes it possible to not use a drop of fuel on most urban commutes.

The competitive pricing is perhaps what sets this vehicle apart and why it has proved to be so successful in the UK. By virtue of it being a plug-in hybrid with low CO2 emissions, it qualifies to be exempt from vehicle excise duty. Furthermore, buyers are able to receive the full £5000 Plug-in Car Grant.

Company car drivers also benefit from investing in the Outlander PHEV with a 5% Benefit in Kind (BIK), saving the driver £8,216 over three years compared to a similar size 4×4 SUV.

Toby Marshall, Sales and Marketing Director of Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, said:”We anticipated that demand for Outlander PHEV would be high in the UK and have ensured that we have ordered enough stock to meet this demand. The car appeals to a wide cross-section of private individuals and business users, with its combination of innovation, style and technology.”

The Outlander PHEV prices range from £28,249 to £34,999 (post-grant) and test drives are available from all Mitsubishi Motors dealers.
