The Hyundai Ioniq range has been awarded a five star EuroNCAP rating in the latest batch of tests carried out by the respected independent safety body.
Applying to all three variants – electric, PHEV, and hybrid – the Ioniq was helped to the highest rating available by a comprehensive suite of safety features fitted as standard.
These include autonomous emergency braking with pedestrian recognition, lane departure warning and lane keep assist, and adaptive cruise control.
The Ioniq is one of the highest scoring small family cars tested this year, with scores of 91% in adult occupant protection, 80% in child occupant protection, 70% pedestrian protection, and 82% in safety assist. Only Subaru’s Levorg and the Kia Niro matched the Ioniq in its EuroNCAP class tested this year, though the Niro only scored top marks when tested with its optional safety pack.
