Nissan Energy Solar has now gone on sale in the UK, with the integrated home energy system starting at a little under £4,000.
The set-up is quoted at enabling customers to save up to 66% on their energy bills, and packages everything required up into one domestic system.
Using Nissan xStorage as an energy storage solution, home owners can utilise Nissan EV batteries for energy storage. Solar panels and a home energy management system complete the package.
Nissan Energy Storage allows customers to reduce energy bills and gain increased independence from the national grid. The solar panels will generate electricity that can be stored for use at any time – whether it’s to supplement peak demand, or charge an EV.
Buyers have the option to pick an xStorage system with new or second-life EV batteries, which can increase the use of recycled materials for a greener solution still.
Gareth Dunsmore Electric Vehicle Director, Nissan Europe, said: “Nissan Energy Solar is a complete system for home energy generation, management and storage. It enables UK homeowners to make significant savings on their household electricity bills, and become champions of sustainability and green technology.
“More than 880,000 people in the UK already use solar panels and this fully integrated solution brings a fresh opportunity to grow this number exponentially over the coming years.”
The Nissan Energy Solar package starts at £3,881 – which includes the supply of six solar panels and home energy management system.
