Orders are now being taken for the new Audi e-tron in the UK, with the pure-electric SUV starting at £67,990 – including Plug-in Car Grant – and deliveries due to start in April.

With an electric range of 241 miles (WLTP) on a single charge, the e-tron has a power output of up to 300 kW, allowing for a 0-62mph time of 5.7 seconds.

Twin electric motors are powered by a 95 kWh battery, which can be rapid charged at up to 150 kW via a CCS connector, reducing recharging times to 30 minutes for an 80% top-up. Charging at home on on public fast points, the Audi can accept up to 11 kW AC with its standard on-board charger.

Adaptive air suspension and all-wheel-drive are standard, and the levels of equipment offered are high, with the likes of the MMI touch response infotainment system and digital instruments. The Launch Edition also offers a UK first, with the removal of conventional door mirrors for rearward-facing cameras, displaying the road behind onto two displays.

The usual suite of EV-related features are also fitted, such as pre-conditioning, charge timer, and smartphone app, while the brake energy recuperation system is reported to be one of the most efficient available.

Currently available in two trim levels – e-tron and e-tron Launch Edition – the electric Audi line-up is eligible for the £3,500 Plug-in Car Grant, with prices (including grant) starting at £67,990 and £78,740 respectively.
