Pod Point has signed an agreement with rapid charging specialists Tritium, which will see the UK-wide EV charging network supplied with 50 kW units to install at sites going forward.

With Pod Point looking to continue the expansion of its rapid network, the Tritium Veefil 50 kW chargers will also offer the firm the chance for Pod Point customers to add their own branding to the charge points.

There are already a number of rapid charge points already on the Pod Point network, almost exclusively at Lidl supermarket sites. However, additional roll-out and a deal with Tesco to install fast and rapid charge points will see Tritium units in the ground as the expansion progresses.

Erik Fairbairn, Pod Point CEO & Founder said: “EV adoption is accelerating rapidly in the UK and we’re making sure the charging infrastructure is in place to sustain the awesome growth trend that we’re seeing.

“We decided to work with Tritium because their products are reliable, easy to install and have a small physical footprint. We also liked that it’s easy to add custom branding to the units too. DC fast charging is a key part of the UK charger mix, especially for drivers who need to re-charge quickly on long journeys or in emergencies, and for commercial vehicles that can’t trickle charge because they don’t park often.”
