BP Chargemaster has launched a new trial of rapid EV charge points located at M&S stores, with the project going live today (Wed 12th August) at the retailer’s newest store at Maidstone Eclipse Park.
Located just off the M20 in Kent, the new charge points are the first of a five-store trial. In this instance, three new rapid chargers have been installed at the M&S store’s car park.
The project looks to help EV drivers who want to pop-in store, particularly those picking up their food shopping. Polar’s rapid points typically see charging sessions of around 30 minutes, which would be an ideal top-up time to browse or shop in store.
BP and M&S are long-standing partners, with the latter’s Simply Food stores at many BP forecourts, and BP Chargemaster is rolling-out 150 kW EV chargers at sites.
