GreenFleet West takes place tomorrow (Friday 20th May) in Bristol, with the region’s biggest Ultra Low Emission Vehicle (ULEV) event involving some of the biggest names in the industry.

Hosted by Quentin Wilson, GreenFleet West aims to help companies in the region save money and improve their environmental impact by switching to ULEV vehicles on their fleets.

With Bristol and the South West one of the winners of the Go Ultra Low Cities bid, the region is set to implement a number of leading initiatives to encourage ULEV use. For example, the councils that made up the winning bid – Bristol City Council, Bath and North East Somerset, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire councils – will all be converting 20-25 per cent of their light vehicle fleet to ULEVs soon, as part of the Go Ultra Low Cities plans.

Some of the UK’s leading ULEV leasing specialists will be on hand to answer questions, while test drives of the latest plug-in models from manufacturers such as BMW, Mitsubishi and Nissan will be available too. Keynote speeches and seminars will be taking place at the Leigh Court venue from the likes of Bristol City Council, Alphabet, the Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) and Business West.

Jonathan Mitchell, OLEV Head of Strategy, said: “OLEV are pleased to support the GreenFleet EV and Plug-in vehicle events, as they help to educate UK businesses on the viability of this technology, and stimulate adoption in UK fleets. We would encourage any organisation in the region to attend, where they can then engage with ourselves, the vehicle manufacturers and other innovative solutions providers.”
