DriveNow – the car sharing service from BMW, Mini and Sixt – has teamed up with London City Airport to make it easier for those arriving and departing to make the most of its London-based fleet. Featuring the largest electric car fleet in London with 50 BMW i3s available, DriveNow users can now leave or pick up a car fron the closest airport to the centre of London.

As soon as DriveNow passengers arrive at the airport, they can open the company’s app and reserve a car which can be driven away from London City Airport straight into the city within minutes. Alternatively, those members who are set to jet off elsewhere can drive their DriveNow model to the airport and leave it there – marking a crucial new expansion outside of the DriveNow business area, which covers north and east London.

Models available include the i3, BMW’s 1 Series hatch and the Mini Countryman, the expansion to London City Airport helps link DriveNow members to international destinations which also feature the car sharing service. These include Berlin, Munich, Dusseldorf, Copenhagen and Stockholm, with in-bound and out-bound passengers able to use DriveNow at home or abroad.

There is an additional charge of £2.50 for the City Airport drop-off service, plus the standard rate of 39p per minute for DriveNow customers. For more information on the car sharing scheme, visit the DriveNow website.
