Be.EV has announced its biggest EV charging hub in Shropshire has landed at Telford Centre, where shoppers at the million square foot shopping centre will have access to 18 ultra-rapid 300kW chargers.

Located in the restaurant and cinema car park, these chargers are capable of delivering up to 325 miles of range in just 20 minutes. That’s enough time to grab a coffee or browse favourite stores — all while drivers’ EVs power up quickly and hassle-free.

According to a report from climate solutions charity OneHome, Telford currently has one of the lowest levels of EV adoption in the country, but the introduction of the new chargers at the Telford Centre will make it easier for shoppers across Shropshire to switch to EVs. The retailers at the Telford Centre will reap the rewards of having the largest charging hub in the region, with a PodPoint study showing that consumer spending increases from £36 per visit to £80 per visit after EV chargers are installed.

The Telford Centre is located less than a 5 minute drive from Junction 5 of the M54, which has an average of 54,000 vehicles passing through it every day.

The Centre is the largest undercover shopping mall in the area and is just a short 35 minute journey from Birmingham and just 25 minutes travel time from Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton.

To celebrate the launch, Be.EV is offering a Welcome Week promotion from 9th to 16th July where EV drivers can get 50% off the cost of charging.

This  £1,064,000 investment is the largest EV charging hub Be.EV has ever built, the deal comes soon after a £20 million investment by Be.EV into sites at five Schroders Capital real estate funds, which will see the installation of over 200 ultra-rapid Kempower EV charging bays across 22 major UK retail and leisure sites.

Asif Ghafoor, CEO of Be.EV, said:

“This milestone at Telford Centre shows exactly why Be.EV is the trusted partner of choice for retailers and communities across the UK.

“It’s not just about building charging points — it’s about delivering reliable, future-proof infrastructure that keeps pace with the rapidly growing EV market.

“This £1 million investment is a bold statement of our ambition to make ultra-fast, convenient charging accessible to everyone, right where they live, work, and shop. We’re proud to be leading the charge towards a cleaner, greener future.”

Be.EV and Zapmap share a live data partnership, as well as a payment partnership. This means that users of the Zapmap app can easily find Be.EV charge points, see the live availability, and pay for charging sessions, all within one app.

Glynn Morrow, Centre Manager at Telford Centre, said:

"We’re very pleased to be able to offer visitors to Telford Centre the ability to also charge their electric vehicles while they visit us to shop, dine or enjoy our leisure offering. We’re sure the facility will be very popular with customers”.
