Be.EV will invest over £2.5 million to deliver new ultra rapid (150kW) charge points across London by the end of the year.
The first of the four new sites has been installed at the Crown Hotel London in Cricklewood, delivered in partnership with AG Hotels. The other sites will be installed near Croydon, Dartford and Watford.
The installation at the Crown Hotel marks the 300th ultra-rapid charge point for Be.EV, which has a total of 631 devices across 214 locations in the UK. In total, the UK currently has over 85,000 charge points, see our EV charging stats page for a breakdown of power ratings, geographical area distribution and location types.
Destination style charging like that now installed at the Crown Hotel is usually provided at lower power ratings for the convenience of overnight charging, these ultra-rapid charge points are expected to attract both travellers and local EV drivers looking for rapid charging options.
You can find and pay for charging at Be.EV charge points within the Zapmap app, as well as access live status and availability information at any time.
Asif Ghafoor, CEO of Be.EV said:
“London is crying out for reliable, accessible EV charging – and this expansion is about meeting that demand head-on. We’re helping to future-proof the city by putting chargers where people need them most: close to homes, shops and leisure destinations.
“It’s a win for AG Hotels too – they get EV charging at no cost, while benefiting from increased footfall from drivers stopping in to top up. This is what the future of urban mobility looks like, and we’re proud to be helping deliver it in the capital.”
Grish Grover, CEO and Managing Director, AG Hotels Group, said:
“On-site EV charging is becoming a clear differentiator in the hospitality sector, shifting from a nice-to-have to an essential service. Partnering with Be.EV will allow us to meet the expectations of a growing number of travellers with EVs while also attracting new customers from the local community. It’s a strategic step that strengthens our sustainability agenda and ensures our hotels remain competitive as travel behaviours evolve.”
