BMWi has officially released their second electric car in the UK: the BMW i8 plug-in hybrid.
Priced at £94,845, the i8 is an elite supercar, which demonstrates that performance needn’t be sacrificed when integrating electric vehicle technology.
Utilising both a 1.5l petrol engine and a 96kW battery, the BMW i8 can reach a top speed of 155mph and does 0-60 in 4.4 seconds, whilst emitting just 49g/km of CO2. Furthermore, it has an official fuel consumption rating of 135mpg.
The BMW i8 plug-in hybrid can run solely of electric power for approximately 22 miles, allowing drivers to travel small journeys with zero emissions and avoiding expensive fuel costs.
