Accomodation providers across the Bradford district are now eligible for a council grant to install an electric vehicle charging point and encourage environmentally-friendly tourism.

A grant of £499 from the West Yorkshire Local Transport Plan is available to Hotels, B&Bs, and campsites to cover the costs of a wall-mounted EV charge point.

Cllr Andrew Thornton, Bradford Council’s executive member for environment and sport, said: “The best way to encourage visitors to use electric vehicles is to try and provide handy charging points.

“Encouraging the use of electric vehicles is one of the key features of our Low Emissions Strategy, which is one of the first in the country designed to reduce air pollution and improve health long-term.”
