With many electric car drivers traveling about the country over the Christmas period, Zap-Map has collated the customer service opening times of the major national charging networks.
The reason for sticking to the large nationwide networks is that many EV drivers will rely on these when traveling cross-country. Regional networks are likely to be relied upon less in these scenarios – though of course they do provide essential cover for some.
Listed alphabetically below are the available opening hours listed. If you know of any others that can be added to the list – whether national, regional, or local – do leave a comment below, to provide as much information as possible to other EV drivers.
Also, remember to use Zap-Chat when charging on the go to keep as many charge point statuses as possible up-to-date for other users.
Charge Your Car

This will include: starting and ending charging sessions, releasing trapped cables, and resetting charge points. Other enquiries will be logged and dealt with during normal service periods.
ChargePlace Scotland

Since the ChargePlace Scotland network is managed by Charge Your Car, the same opening times and limited service days apply. See above for details on what limited service involves.
Chargemaster Polar
Open throughout festive period. Limited service on 25th & 26th December, and 1st & 2nd January (Bank Holidays). All other times operating normal service.
Chargemaster will keep their customer service office open 24/7 over the next few weeks, though will only be dealing with essential calls during limited service periods.
The help line will be able to deal with problems at charge points for customers, with general enquiries dealt with by staff on standard working days, available 8.30am – 5.30pm.
Ecotricity
Open 28th to 30th December between 8am and 5pm. Closed between Saturday 24th and Tuesday 27th December. Closed Saturday 31st to Monday 2nd January.
Ecotricity’s customer service department will be shut for two periods in the Christmas/New Year stretch. During this time there will be no customer support should problems occur with the network.
In this event, checking Zap-Map for recent user updates could provide peace of mind, or prevent a nervous journey trying to get to another charge point if one is found to be out of action. Drivers can also check the status of Electric Highway points on the company’s smartphone app.
Pod Point
Open throughout festive period for Out of Hours assistance – between 8am and 8pm on 26th & 27th December (Bank Holidays).
Pod Point’s customer service office will closed for general enquiries during weekends and Bank Holidays, though its out of hours service will remain available to assist customers experiencing problems at charge points.
