Rolec has supplied Kia dealerships across the country with 200 EV charging points to more than 90 dealerships and the flagship Kia GWR centre. The project has seen Rolec install its 32amp AutoCharge EV pedestals and/or SecuriCharge EV wall units – the majority of which are Kia branded.

The dealerships also have charge point protection barriers and buffers around them where necessary, and EV charge point signage for customers and staff. Bolton Kia’s Marketing Executive Lynsey Greaves said: “It is great to be able to provide EV charging on the sales side of our business – we think the Rolec chargers look very smart.”

The move comes about as Kia and sister firm Hyundai are ramping up plans for increased plug-in models. The Kia Soul EV is already on sale, with the Optima PHEV soon to be available too. Hyundai is set to bring its Ioniq EV to the UK this October too.
