Happy World EV Day!

As we celebrate the rapid growth of EV adoption across the world, we’re thrilled to highlight the incredible progress in charging infrastructure in the UK.

There are now 68,273 electric vehicle charging points across 35,230 locations - a 41% year-on-year increase with nearly 20,000 new devices installed since August 2023.

Even more impressive, the number of rapid and ultra-rapid charge points has surged by 49%, now standing at 13,444 devices across 5,681 locations.

But it’s not just about the headline numbers - our approach to measuring EV infrastructure progress needs to evolve.

A new Cenex report and interactive dashboard, featuring data and analysis from Zapmap Insights, shines a light on progress in public EV Infrastructure using new measures, chosen for their relevance to key EV charging 'use cases': Near Home, Journey, and Destination charging.

So if you're wondering which major roads have the best charge point provision, which cities' households are most likely to be close to a charger, or about progress in your Local Authority - we've got you covered.

Whichever way you look at it great strides have been made, but we know there’s plenty more to do!
