Zapmap's European adventure begins: Join our launch promo

Zapmap has taken its first steps into mainland Europe. As part of our mission to simplify electric vehicle (EV) charging, we've begun mapping charge points in key continental European destinations including France, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxembourg. At this stage, the expansion is all about helping UK drivers venturing abroad with their electric vehicles.

And to celebrate this, we've launched an exclusive competition for our users. The most active user at our new EU charging points will enjoy a month of free Zap-Pay charging in the UK. Plus, every check-in and comment at these points enters you into a draw to win two years of Zapmap Premium.

Zapmap has mapped the 15,000 most useful charge points across the continent.

Got an exciting European adventure planned? Maybe you’re visiting relatives over the holidays? Well, Zapmap has mapped the 15,000 most useful charge points across the continent - so start bookmarking the ones along your planned route to put you in pole position to win the contest.

To enter you need to check in, rate, add a photo, and comment at any European mainland charging points listed on Zapmap. 

Make sure your marketing preferences are switched on in order to participate in this competition.

Prizes to win

The user with the most interactions at our newly added EU charging points before January 9th will receive a month of free Zap-Pay charging in the UK.

Additionally, every check-in and comment at EU charge points automatically enters you into a draw to win two years of Zapmap Premium.

The competition runs from the 12th of December 2023 until the 9th of January 2024, giving you plenty of time to check the Zapmap app for charge points along our road-trip route, or maybe even inspire you to take one.

Terms and Conditions

1. The Zapmap ‘International launch’ promotion is live between 00:00am on 12/12/23 and 23:59pm on 09/01/24 (the “Promotion Period”). During the Promotion Period, Zapmap users will be eligible to enter a competition to win free Zap-Pay charging or free Zapmap Premium access. 
2. The promotion is limited to one prize per user. 
3. Zapmap reserves the right to reject any check-ins or photo uploads deemed suspicious, and we may ask for proof of your trip if potentially suspicious activity is detected.
4. To enter the competition, users need to check-in at a charge point on the Zapmap app and add contributions in the following countries: France, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg.
5. A contribution is defined as
   1. Thumbs up or thumbs down
   2. Submit a photo
   3. Leave a comment - the more detail the better!
6. The prize draw category winner for the Zapmap International Launch Promo will be determined through a random prize draw. This draw will be conducted by designated staff members of Zapmap Limited under strict adherence to fairness and impartiality standards. The outcomes of the draw are irrevocable and binding. The decisions made by Zapmap Limited regarding the draw results are final and shall not be subject to dispute or appeal.
7. The grand prize winner will be announced and contacted on the 15/01/24
8. The free Zap-Pay charging must be conducted via the Zapmap app between 16/01/24 and 16/02/24. The user will not be charged for their Zap-Pay charging for this discrete period. 
9. The usual Zap-Pay £5 pre-authorisation will apply. When selecting a connector to begin a Zap-Pay session, users will see a message asking them to ‘pre-authorise’ a sum of £5. A pre-authorisation is used as part of the standard Zap-Pay process to ensure that a payment card is valid, and there are funds available in the bank or credit card account. The pre-authorisation will temporarily reserve £5 in the payment account until the charging session is complete.  The unused pre-authorised amount will be released back into user’s available funds, usually within 5 working days but this could take longer, depending on the payment card issuer.  
10. The free Zap-Pay charging offer is restricted to fair usage for personal use only. Usage is only permitted for one household’s EVs. Excludes Allstar and commercial charging. Free charging activity will be monitored for fair usage and capped if abuse is suspected. A maximum amount of £200 free charging is applicable (per winner).
11. The two year’s free Zapmap Premium prize will be fulfilled by Zapmap applying the free subscription to the user’s account. If the user already has a Zapmap Premium subscription, they will receive the free Zap-Pay charging prize instead.  
12. To be eligible for this offer users must be a UK resident aged 18 or over. 
13. Employees of Zapmap Limited, and their immediate families are not eligible to take part in this offer. Zapmap Limited shareholders are not eligible to take part in this offer.
