The POD Point team has arrived back in London after a 17 day long trip to the four corners of the UK in an electric car.

Fifteen events were held over sixteen days to raise awareness of the expanding network of charging infrastructure in the UK. By taking on 2500 miles in a Renault Zoe, POD Point also hoped to dispel public concerns over range anxiety.

Zap-Map, as a sponsor of the campaign, provided a map of the CATUK route with all the events and charging points plotted along the way. In total, 72 charging points were used en route to power the journey. POD point estimated that £590 was saved on fuel costs, compared to what they would have spent on petrol travelling in a conventionally powered vehicle.

Founder and CEO of POD Point, Erik Fairbairn commented: “CATUK has been a fantastic example of POD Point actively moving the UK forward in adoption of the electric vehicle. As we move forward, the EV buyers are no longer the early adopters, but early majority, and it is work like we have done with our partners on CATUK which show the early majority that the UK is ready for them to go EV.”
