Portishead is set to get a new K:Port EV charging hub, developed by Hewitt Studios and partially funded by the Go Ultra Low (GUL) West project.

The K:Portishead demonstration rapid charging hub will be able to serve four vehicles at a time, and aims to give residents and visitors the ability to charge an EV in around 30 minutes.

The Department for Transport’s Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) has given North Somerset Council £370,000 to design and build the K:Port as part of a package of works for its GUL scheme.

Designed by Bath-based Hewitt Studios, the work at K:Portishead is expected to be completed by the end of the 2018, and will become part of North Somerset’s tie-in with the NewMotion network.

Once operational, the points will go live on Zap-Map desktop and app. Until then, you can find NewMotion points on Zap-Map using the network filters.
