Citroën is cleaning up in Leeds. The manufacturer has delivered an order of nine new Citroën ë-Dispatch vans on behalf of one of its clients. The fleet of vehicles, supplied by Citroën retailer Yeomans in Exeter, will be put to use for essential cleaning services across Leeds and the surrounding area.

Thanks to the added flexibility in design afforded by electric vans, the new ë-Dispatchs have been customised by Varitech Systems – a family business that has been trading from the South West of England for over 15 years – to cater for specific customer needs. They include, for example, a 650-litre water tank, modular flooring above a tank capable of holding up to 250kg, and pumps, controllers and filters, all easily accessible from the vehicle’s side or rear.

Varitech Systems has been a long-standing customer of Yeomans Citroën, previously operating with a fleet incorporating models across Citroën’s petrol and diesel light commercial vehicle (LCV) range. Following the launch of 100% electric new ë-Dispatch, Varitech Systems is looking to make Citroën the sole supplier of vehicles for their STREAMLINE® fleet.

Born of necessity, the Citroën ë-Dispatch vans provide Varitech Systems with a practical level of space and storage facilities. The battery has been positioned under the floor to maximise load space, providing up to 6.6m3 of load volume and a payload of up to 1,002kg.

The multi-award-winning Citroën ë-Dispatch is the first vehicle to form part of Citroën’s electrification strategy to offer fully electric vehicles across the van range by the end of 2021, with new ë-Relay large van available to order now and new ë -Berlingo Van later this year.

The electric fleet will provide essential cleaning services in and around Leeds.

Available with a choice of two battery sizes, the new ë-Dispatch vans are capable of up to 143 miles (WLTP) with the 50kWh battery, or up to 205 miles with the larger 75kWh battery (WLTP). They can be easily charged at home through a 7Kw Wallbox, or via a super-fast public charging station at speeds of up to 100kW that can recharge 80% of the battery in just 30 or 45 minutes for 50kWh and 75kWh versions respectively.

Scott Westerby, Fleet Director at Citroën UK, commented:

“It is great to hear Varitech Systems has placed an order for nine Citroën ë-Dispatch vans on behalf of their client. Varitech Systems has been a loyal customer for Yeomans Citroën, and I am always pleased to see that our range of vehicles continues to impress fleet operators.

“New Citroën ë-Dispatch has received a great reception from customers and industry experts since launch, and we hope to be able to provide operators like Varitech Systems’ client with even more vehicles to help them carry out their work practically, cost effectively and emission free.”
