Citroen has revealed its new ë-C4, with the C4 Cactus replacement offering a range of up to 217 miles on a charge.

The family-sized hatchback uses a 100 kW electric motor and 50 kWh battery for its core electric powertrain, and can be charged at up to 100 kW on DC ultra-rapid charge points.

Performance figures come in at a 9.7 second 0-62 mph time, with a top speed of 93 mph. There are three driving modes – Eco, Normal, and Sport – and there is a ‘Brake’ feature for stronger brake energy recuperation.

Standard AC charging uses the 7 kW on-board charger, though an 11 kW on-board charger is available as an option for faster top-ups on public and workplace points.

Connected car features will be available through the MyCitroen app, which allows for charging timers, charge status checks, and pre-conditioning, amongst other features.

The ë-C4 – and conventionally powered C4 – bring along a new design language inside and out. The edgier design outside makes the Citroen stand out in a crowded market, whilst the interior looks and is promised to be more upmarket than before.

Citroen has also announced that it will be continuing its work on making Citroen’s some of the most comfortable mass-market cars available. It’s Progressive Hydraulic Cushion suspension and Advanced Comfort seats are continued from the C4 Cactus and other Citroen models.

A new feature is the inclusion of an integrated, retractable tablet stand, for the front seat passenger to use whilst on the move. Interior storage space has been a priority for the ë-C4’s designers, with a number of clever features promised, and lots of charging solutions for devices on-board.
