Kia’s new Sorento PHEV has been revealed, with the SUV set to arrive in Europe early next year.
Official electric driving range, CO2, and fuel economy figures are yet to be announced. However, we do know the seven-seater SUV will feature a 13.8 kWh battery and 67 kW electric motor.
Combined with a 1.6 litre T-GDi petrol engine, the Sorento Plug-in Hybrid will produce a combined 265 hp and 350 Nm of torque. Power will go to all four wheels via a six-speed automatic transmission.
Kia has said that the new model will see the company’s first use of an independent battery pack water-cooling system in a PHEV, to ensure optimal heat management.
UK specifications and prices will be announced closer to on-sale date.
