Charging network EV Driver has expanded its network further, now with seven points for customers to use in East Anglia. The company’s pay-as-you-go network has six charge points at East of England Co-op stores, and one at its headquarters.
All units charge at 22kW and have dual sockets. The pay-as-you-go set-up means that drivers can charge either with a smartphone app or RFID card, paying 25p per kWh used. There is currently no connection charge.
With one eye on the realistic situation within rural East Anglia, EV Driver recommends that drivers who are likely to use the charge points regularly get an RFID card to circumvent any problems with mobile reception near the units. The price of £5 covers the cost of this. However, the majority of the time will see drivers able to download the app and charge easily.
Further charge points will be added to the network in due course, while EV Driver is also looking to add rapid DC charge points to its books too.
