How to use the Pod Point network

Pod Point has an extensive UK-wide network, which requires a smartphone app or use of a web app to access the units. You can sign up for a Pod Point Account for free, or alternatively use guest access. The network’s rapid chargers at certain Tesco locations have a contactless payment option.

Pod Point offers drivers 15 minutes to confirm a charge after plugging in. This means that drivers have the chance to get out of the rain or find mobile signal. Charging will start immediately but will pause after five minutes if the charge has not been confirmed.

Where are Pod Point charge points located?

All Pod Point points can be found on Zapmap by using the network filter. This can be used on desktop and mobile apps, and displays only those points available to use by Pod Point customers.

Charging types and speeds can be filtered too, showing only those points that are compatible with users’ cars.
Select 'Filters' -> 'Networks' -> 'Pod Point' to view only Pod Point charge points.

How does Pod Point compare to other networks in terms of pricing?

Zapmap monitors the prices of charging on the public network and reports on the prices charged by the top 10* rapid charging networks. The prices are updated on a monthly basis here: Rapid Charging: Top 10 Network Pricing

The price to charge an electric vehicle (EV) on the public charging network can vary substantively, and prices are increasing due to current issues in the energy market.
Updated on a monthly basis, the Zapmap Price Index shows the difference in prices paid depending on the type of charger and will also track how this is changing over time.
