The BMWi range is proving popular in the UK, with the recently released BMW i8 racking up a waiting list that now stretches over a year.
A BMWi spokesperson has confirmed that 200 deliveries of the i8 have been made and orders for the £99,115 plug-in hybrid now exceed the 400 mark, meaning new buyers will have to wait a year to receive their vehicle.
The BMW i3 has had a strong first year, with over 10,000 registrations globally. The UK accounted for 1,000 of those, with 60% of buyers opting for the range-extended version.
BMW has also announced that 80% of i3 and i8 buyers choose to install the optional ‘BMWi Wallbox’ at their home. The 32A BMW domestic charging point costs £360 and charges an i3 fully in around 3 hours.
