Volkswagen has opened the order books for its ID.3, allowing those who placed a deposit to specify and confirm their car.
The ID.3 1st Edition costs £38,880 (exc. PiCG) and features a 58 kWh (net) battery for a range of 260 miles on a charge. Ultra-rapid charging can be completed at up to 100 kW, allowing drivers to add around 180 miles of range in half an hour.
Powered by a 150 kW electric motor, the ID.3 completes the 0-62mph sprint in 7.3 seconds, and matches a Golf GTI’s 0-37mph time.
Based on VW’s new MEB architecture – specifically designed as an electric-only platform – Volkswagen says the ID.3 has a similar footprint to a Golf, but with the interior space of a Passat.
Equipment includes a 10-inch infotainment system, ID.Light, 19-inch alloys, LED headlights, and a comprehensive suite of safety systems.
Those that placed their £750 deposit when the ID.3 was launched can confirm their preferred specification and place an order now. Included is 2,000 kWh of renewable electricity, worth £500.
