The Zapmap team has returned from the 2023 Fully Charged LIVE South show that took place over the 28th - 30th of April, thrilled to once again get to take part as exhibitors at the leading electric vehicle (EV) and home energy industry event.

Visitors got the chance to explore, learn and enjoy the many live talks from industry experts, with the stars of the show including Fully Charged Show’s Robert Llewellyn, and guest star Deborah Meaden from BBC’s Dragons Den and the Big Green Energy Show.

Demonstrations of the latest products and services available for EVs and home energy tech were available for all throughout the three-day occasion, but the Zapmap sponsored test drive area stole the show in terms of popularity, with huge queues each day of people keen to get behind the wheel of the latest electric cars, and test drive a range of EVs from compact cars to SUVs.

Zapmap’s two stands were a huge success - from our perspective at least - with a steady stream of visitors including lovers of the app singing its praises, and new-to-EV drivers interested to learn how Zapmap could help them search, plan, and pay for EV charging, all in one simple-to-use app.

We were fortunate to be kindly provided with a bollard-style charge point by Zap-Pay partner char.gy. The bollard, which was added temporarily to Zapmap at Farnborough International for the purposes of the weekend, was used to demonstrate Zap-Pay, the simple way to pay for EV charging across networks from within the Zapmap app.

No driveway? No problem!

Impressing audiences with her expert knowledge on all things EV charging and the sector as a whole, Zapmap Co-founder & COO Melanie Sufflebotham appeared on two expert guest panels: ‘No driveway? No problem!’ and ‘Can we overcome our SUV obsession?’.

The two panels provided their respective audiences with a mixture of well thought out and in some cases amusing solutions, which included nuanced taxation schemes, space limiting solutions such as bollards, and gaslighting potential EV buyers by labelling all manner of compact to mid-size vehicles as SUVs!

What's next?

Fear not if you missed this year's show, Fully Charged LIVE North will be happening this year for the first time ever at Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate, on the 19th - 21st of May, 2023.

We’ll be there in force once again, ready to share the best way to make your EV journeys as simple as possible, wherever you go!
