GeniePoint and the Motor Fuel Group (MFG) have confirmed that the partnership’s EV charge point roll-out is continuing at pace, with 14 rapid chargers installed at petrol stations already.

There are another 20 rapid charge points being installed this month, 25 planned for February, and a total of 60 expected by the end of March.

The plan remains to install rapid charge points across UK forecourts run by MFG, which includes brands such as BP, Shell, and Texaco. There are 439 forecourts in the UK currently under the MFG banner, and 200 rapid charging points are due to be installed by the end of 2018.

Alex Bamberg, managing director, ChargePoint Services, said: “Our GeniePoint Network is the fastest growing reliable Rapid Charger network in the UK.

“From commuters to taxi-drivers, fleet operators and independent owners, at key forecourt locations ChargePoint Services & MFG are providing a new critical service supporting the change to electric transport for Government initiatives, manufacturer product direction and consumer demand.”

geniepointAll installed charge points are rapid units with up to 50kW available from one of three connectors. GeniePoint provides Zap-Map with dynamic data, allowing users to see the status of a charge point on the Zap-Map app or desktop site. Find the charge points by selecting GeniePoint on the network filters.
