Motor Fuel Group (MFG) is accelerating the expansion of its London electric vehicle (EV) charging network in response to rapidly growing customer demand. New EV Power Ultra-Rapid Hubs (equipped with 300 - 400 KWH chargers) are opening across the capital in 2025, equating to a 30%+ increase in the charge point operator’s network within the M25.

MFG’s EV Power business is now the largest open Ultra Rapid charging network in the UK – that can deliver up to 100 miles of charge in 10 minutes. EV Power already has a significant network inside the M25, across MFG’s London sites.

MFG’s latest investment sees a total of seven new Ultra Rapid Hubs added to its London network, as well as the expansion of a further three existing hubs, providing essential infrastructure for London - ensuring faster, and easier access to reliable EV charging.

MFG will be developing five EV Power Hubs on Morrisons car parks in London, providing shoppers with a highly desirable charging solution. This offer will complement MFG’s network of rapid chargers, which are also being installed on the majority of Morrisons’ London supermarkets – EV Power facilities will be at 300 Morrisons supermarkets across the country by the end of 2025.

MFG’s EV Power Hubs in London will be equipped with an average of seven bays per hub across the following locations:

  1. MFG St Pauls Cray  – OPEN

  2. MFG Bush Hill, A10 - OPEN

  3. MFG Leyton, A112 – OPEN

  4. Morrisons Hatch End – OPEN

  5. Morrisons Palmers Green – OPEN

  6. MFG Goodmayes, Ilford – OPEN (expanded hub opening in 2025)

  7. Morrisons Borehamwood, A1 – OPENING 2025

  8. Morrisons London Stratford – OPENING 2025

  9. Morrisons Queensbury – OPENING 2025

  10. MFG Herds, Sunbury on Thames – OPENING 2025

Zapmap users can easily find and pay for charging across all MFG EV Power sites within the Zapmap app, where the live status and availability of all MFG charge points is also shown.

The expansion supports MFG’s strategic goal to build a nationwide network of ultra-rapid EV hubs, designed to support the UK’s transition to electric vehicles and help address charging accessibility in high-demand urban areas. This is particularly relevant inside the M25 where the uptake of EV cars is strong, driven by clean air initiatives such as ULEZ/London Congestion Charge. The new and expanded sites will be equipped with the latest ultra-rapid chargers, capable of delivering up to 300-400 kW, allowing drivers to add up to 100 miles of range in 10 minutes, depending on their vehicle.

This latest phase of expansion is part of MFG’s wider £400 million investment commitment into EV infrastructure by 2030. MFG has already installed c.1,000 ultra-rapid chargers in over 200 locations and in 2025 alone MFG is investing c.£170m upgrading its network of forecourts.

Martin Symes, Director of EV at MFG, commented:

"London is a key focus for our EV charging infrastructure investment, as we continue to see high demand for reliable, high-speed charging across the UK but particularly in the capital. By expanding existing sites and bringing new hubs online, we are ensuring EV drivers have access to the ultra-rapid facilities they need, helping to make EV ownership more convenient and accessible."
