Mitsubishi has brought out a new version of its best-selling Outlander PHEV and we went along to the launch to try it out. Pottering around Bristol in all-electric mode, or using both powerplants out on the open road, we drove the new model in a variety of conditions.
The best way to describe the direction Mitsubishi has gone with the latest Outlander PHEV is upmarket. Whether it is the exterior styling or the cabin, everywhere you look, the Outlander PHEV is decidedly nicer to look at with better quality materials used.
Having to follow on from the runaway success story that was the first generation Outplander PHEV, this new version has some big boots to fill. However, with a huge number of small attributes looked at, tweaked and improved upon, the Mitsubishi has strenghthened its position as a practial and frugal family car yet further.
