The Polar network is providing free EV charging and subscriptions to the emergency services during the Covid-19 outbreak. At the same time, it is offering taxi drivers free credit for those carrying NHS workers.

The public EV charging network is providing free access for emergency fleet vehicles on both existing and new accounts.

Owned by BP Chargemaster, the Polar network is following the same policy as BP in offering free fuel to emergency services vehicles throughout the Coronavirus situation.

Free charging is available for fleet vehicles and does not cover charging for personal usage.

Taxi drivers can benefit should they be supporting the NHS Heroes initiative. This sees half price fares charged for those using Free Now drivers in London, whilst Gett drivers are offering £10 trips under the scheme in Edinburgh, Glasgow, Reading, and London Zones 1-3.

Those taxi drivers supporting the NHS Heroes initiative will receive £30 credit for each participating driver through the two apps. Again, the offer is open to both new and existing account holders.

Additional information on Polar’s Emergency Services and NHS Heroes offers can be found at the above links.

Of course, these offers are intended for vital travel for emergency services and NHS workers, and non-essential travel is discouraged in-line with government policy.
