BMW are set to add the 330e plug-in hybrid to their popular 3 series range in 2016.

The new BMW 330e will offer a combined fuel consumption of 134.5mpg and CO2 emissions of 49g/km.

The BMW 330e PHEV will not be short of performance; it’s plug-in hybrid technology makes use of a 184hp 2.0-litre petrol engine together with an 80 kW electric motor to offer a total 252hp.

It will accelerate from 0-62mph in 6.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 140mph.

Notably, this model is capable of travelling up to approximately 22-miles in all-electric mode with zero-emissions.

It is likely to be fitted with a type 2 mennekes connector, which will allow it to plug-in to thousands of publically available charging points across the UK.
