To celebrate the opening of two new RAW Charging electric vehicle charge point hubs at UK Commercial Property REIT sites, electric vehicle (EV)  drivers are being offered free charging for a week.

The first of the two sites is RAW Charging’s largest to date, situated at Junction27 Retail Park, located at junction 27 of the M62 in Batley, West Yorkshire. It has 10 charging bays with ultra-rapid DC 300kW EV chargers and 6 charging bays with 22kW EV chargers.

Free charging at Junction27 will begin at 12:01 am on Thursday 14th December and normal fees will resume at 23:59 on Wednesday 20th December.

The second new site is located at St George’s Shopping Park, Leicester, off the A594 and A47 to be opened on Friday 22 December. The St George’s site contains 8 charging bays with ultra-rapid 300kW EV chargers and 4 charging bays with 150kW ultra-rapid EV chargers.

Free charging will be available at St. George’s Shopping centre during its inaugural week of operation, beginning  at 12:01 am on Friday 22nd December, normal fees will resume at 23:59 on Thursday 28th December.

“We are delighted to have worked with the UK Commercial Property REIT team at abrdn to bring much needed charging to these two fantastic sites in Yorkshire and Leicester,” said Jason Simpson, CEO, RAW Charging.

“We think it is only fitting to celebrate by offering free charging for a week, especially over the Christmas period, allowing shoppers to do last minute Christmas shopping and go to the boxing day sales all whilst charging for free.

“Both retail parks offer a range of shops and restaurants, making them the perfect locations for us to work with the landlord’s advisor, abrdn, to install our chargers, allowing customers to charge whilst they enjoy the range of facilities.

“Rapid Hubs form an important part of our strategy and we offer a turnkey solution to all asset owners that are looking to install EV chargers on their land.”

RAW Charging is partnered with Zapmap as part of its Live data network, making finding and planning your charging simpler - all RAW Charging locations have live status and availability information on the Zapmap app and desktop map.

“One of our key goals for the UK Commercial Property REIT portfolio is to ensure that our assets provide the best possible service to customers and other stakeholders, and that they help create a sustainable future in line with our net zero ambitions,” said Will Fulton, Fund Manager at abrdn.

“Working with RAW to install much needed charging facilities at these two well located and popular retail parks helps us achieve both those goals and we will continue to work with best in class EV operators, such as RAW Charging, to deliver on our ambitions.”
