The Revive public EV charging network has been launched today (20th November 2019), which will take over from the current Source West network, covering the Bristol, Bath, and South West area.

The network launches with a pair of rapid EV charge points at Eastville Park, Bristol, which have gone online. Planned facilities are set to be built alongside the new charge points, including a refreshment kiosk and toilets for those charging just off the M32.

Backed by four local authorities – Bristol City Council, Bath and North East Somerset, South Gloucestershire, and North Somerset – Revive will install an additional 120 charge points in the next few years across the region.

The majority of points will be backed by 100% renewable electricity from Bristol Energy, and funding for the roll-out comes from a £7.1 million grant the region as part of the Gol Ultra Low West programme. Aims are to improve air quality in the area and promote uptake of pure-EVs and plug-in hybrids across the region.

Existing Source West members are encouraged to sign up to Revive as soon as possible on the network’s website, to ensure they can charge as normal once the switch-over is complete. Membership is free and charging will be on a pay-as-you-go basis, with members also able to access the GeniePoint network nationwide.
