Tonik and The Phoenix Works unveil EV charging service plan

Tonik Energy and The Phoenix Works have launched a new EV charging service plan for businesses and organisations, providing a complete charging solution for clients.

Intended for companies and the public sector, the new service removes up-front costs and guarantees reliability for a fixed fee. From £1 a day, organisations can have EV charge points installed and maintained under the new Tonik Energy and The Phoenix Works plan.

Reliable charging units will be selected by The Phoenix Works, with next-working day callouts available should anything go wrong and it can’t be fixed remotely.

There’s a ‘100% uptime guarantee’, meaning that if the units don’t work and it’s not the fault of the firm where they are installed, the customer doesn’t pay.

Those companies that sign up to the service plan retain all of the EV charging revenues, and the points are available on an open, subscription-free network.

Chris Russell, Managing Director, Tonik Energy, said: “The UK is moving fast towards a zero-carbon future and we want to be a positive force within the market. EV charging is a significant part of that future and is quickly becoming business-critical infrastructure for workplaces, businesses, and the public sector.

“Our mission is to provide the best service to our customers, simplifying the selection, installation and maintenance processes; meaning they can focus on their core business.”

Thomas Newby, Managing Director at The Phoenix Works, added: “With the sharp growth in electric vehicles and the Government’s Clean Growth Strategy, a lot of providers have jumped on the EV bandwagon seeing an opportunity to turn a quick profit. As a result, the market has been beset with problems resulting from poor quality equipment, inadequate servicing, with little or no support for end users.

“Our approach to EV charging will lead the market – everything from our benchmarks for hardware selection, uncompromising installation quality, ongoing customer service and simple, easy-to-use interfaces for drivers – it’s all done with the aim of setting the standard for the marketplace to follow.”
