Toyota has announced details of its new RAV4 Plug-in. The new model has an electric-only driving range of up to 46 miles on a charge.
Set to become the most powerful RAV4 yet, the PHEV SUV will produce a combined 302 hp from its 2.5 litre petrol engine and electric motor.
Official efficiency figures come in at 282.5 MPG and 22 g/km of CO2, meaning this financial year it would be in the 6% BIK band for company car use.
The 46 mile electric range is extended to around 60 miles with increased emphasis on city driving, and the RAV4 can travel at up to 84 mph in electric mode.
Electric power comes from a new 18 kWh battery for the 134 kW electric motor, which can be charged at up to 7.2 kW for a full charge in around two and a half hours.
UK prices and specifications will be announced closer to launch, with models expected in showrooms in spring 2021.
