Nissan’s new LEAF was given its UK debut at the EV Experience Centre (EVEC) in Milton Keynes yesterday (Thursday 26th October), with influential members of the EV community invited along to take a look at the latest model.
Taking over the EVEC for three days, two of the latest LEAFs were on show in the showroom, with new features and technologies demonstrated – including Nissan’s new e-Pedal.
The centre is normally a multi-brand showroom, with visitors to Centre:MK able to look around models from different manufacturers and take them on test drives too. This event was focused solely on the new 40kWh LEAF though, with a queue of people lined up for the doors to open to the public.
EV Experience Centre manager, Ted Foster, said: “It was fantastic to host the UK debut of the new Nissan LEAF, which we believe will be a hugely significant car in helping to increase the adoption of EVs in the UK.
“The increased range from the 40kWh battery is what seems to have drawn most people in, as it’s a car that can comfortably do many people’s weekly – let alone daily – mileage.
“It’s clear that people also really like the new styling and interior refinements, and the e-Pedal simulator has been a great way to demonstrate how little you really need to press the brake, and to show how easy it is to drive more efficiently.”
