At Zapmap we are constantly looking at ways to ensure our users get the best experience searching for charge points, planning EV journeys and paying for charging – which is why we're delighted to announce the launch of an exciting spring offer that makes your journeys more affordable.

Starting from 27th March and running throughout the spring, Zapmap Premium users will enjoy a 5% discount on their charging sessions when paying through the app.

The offer coincides with key updates to Zapmap’s Premium offering, centred around new features within Apple CarPlay and soon-to-be released updates to Android Auto.

The timing couldn’t be more perfect. With Easter weekend approaching, many drivers will be hitting the roads, and what better way to celebrate than by saving money on your adventure?

Ed Walsh, Zapmap's Head of Product, emphasised the dual benefits of the promotion, stating, “Not only does this offer provide tangible savings for our drivers, but it also encourages EV drivers to hit the road and discover new and exciting places around the UK.”

Why Zapmap Premium?

We’re committed to creating a seamless EV charging experience, and a trusted safety net for when you hit the open road. This spring offer is another layer to that commitment.

Spring into action

To ensure you don’t miss out on the promotion, get the app from the Apple or Google stores. If you're already a Zapmap user, navigate to the Subscriptions menu item on your app and follow the prompts.

How do you pay for charging with Zapmap?

Paying for your charging session on Zapmap is straightforward. Our ever-expanding network now includes 13 charge point operators across the UK, making it easier than ever to find a compatible charge point. Here’s how you can do it:

Locate a charge point: Within the app, use the Zap-Pay option in the ‘Payment’ filters to find a compatible charge point.

Initiate charging: Tap on the charge point’s icon in the app to view its details. Then press the orange 'Charge now' button.

Select payment details: Follow the on-screen prompts to choose a connector and your preferred payment method. We accept Visa, Mastercard, as well as both Google and Apple Pay, which makes paying for charging quick and easy up and down the country.

What happens when the charging session ends?

After your session ends, you’ll receive a VAT receipt including a 5% discount. If you’re a registered user, this receipt is also stored in your Zapmap account. Please note, the app shows prices before discounts.

Pre-authorisation charge

  • We ensure your payment card is valid and that you have sufficient funds by making a £5 pre-authorisation charge. This reserves £5 in your account but is not an actual charge.
  • When the session is complete, the pre-authorisation will be updated to the correct transaction amount within the next 60 minutes.
  • If the charge is unsuccessful and no transaction takes places, the fee will be released back to your account within three to five working days, depending on your bank.
