Peugeot has launched its high performance division with the plug-in hybrid 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered.

The new performance 508 PHEV uses twin electric motors and a petrol engine, producing a combined 360hp and 520 Nm of torque, for a 0-62 mph time of 5.2 seconds. However, it is also capable of driving 26 miles on a single charge.

A wider track, an electric motor on each axle for all-wheel drive, larger tyres, dropped seating position, and revised suspension set-up make up the performance changes, creating the brand’s most powerful production model ever.

Efficiency figures see CO2 emissions rated at 46 g/km, whilst fuel economy comes in at 139 MPG. The 508 Peugeot Sport Engineered is available in both fastback and estate forms.

Prices and UK specifications will be revealed closer to launch, with the new performance models due in the first half of 2021.
