Lexus is now taking reservations for the UX 300e, the Japanese company’s forthcoming pure-electric crossover.
Prices are expected to start from £43,900, though final pricing and specifications will be confirmed when customer orders are formally expected from October.
The entry level price is expected to start at the above price for the UX grade, whilst either of the two option packs will take the price up to £47,400 for the Premium Plus pack, or £53,500 for Takumi.
Plug-in Car Grant funding is not yet official, though all models costing less than £50,000 will likely receive £3,000 off the list cost, as the UX 300e meets all requirements.
Standard equipment includes the Lexus Safety System+, Bi-LED headlights, heated and electric front seats, parking sensors front and rear, reversing camera, Apple CarPlay / Android Auto integration, 17-inch alloys, and automatic wipers and lights.
Premium Plus pack includes leather seats, a heated steering wheel, vented front seats, heated outer rear seats, keyless entry, and wireless phone charging. Takumi includes a 13-speaker Mark Levinson stereo, Lexus navigation system with 10.3-inch display, powered tailgate, head-up display, 360-degree cameras, 18-inch alloys, and improved suite of safety systems.
Technical specifications are covered by a 150 kW electric motor, powered by a 54.3 kWh battery. The motor produces 300 Nm of torque, helping a 0-62 mph time of 7.5 seconds. Driving range is yet to be homologated, but expected to be up to 196 miles on a charge. Rapid DC charging is possible at up to 50 kW, and there is a 7 kW on-board charger fitted.
Deposits of £1,000 are being taken now for a priority place in the customer order book, and reservation holders will be able to confirm and specify their Lexus UX 300e in October; customer deliveries are expected in March 2021.
