Volkswagen has announced UK pricing for the ID.3, following on from the limited run 1st Edition models that were delivered last month. The news sees the new ID.3 available for less than £30,000.

VW’s new entry-level ID.3 – in Life trim – has an OTR cost of £29,990 after the £3,000 Plug-in Car Grant, coming with the 58 kWh battery found on the 1st Edition model.

In fact, seven trim levels have been released, with six of these using the same 58 kWh battery and 204 hp electric motor. The ID.3 Tour is the first in the range to launch in the UK with a larger battery at 77 kWh, for an increased range of 336 miles on a charge.

Next year, cheaper models still will be released, with a smaller battery pack – 45 kWh – and lower output motor.

The line-up sees Volkswagen offer the ID.3 Pro Performance – 58 kWh battery and 204 hp motor – in six specification levels: Life, Style, Business, Family, Tech, and Max. Ranges are 263, 262, 260, 261, 260, and 258 miles respectively. The larger battery is available in the ID.3 Pro S specification with Tour trim.

Prices for the above models start at £29,990 and rise to £38,220 for the 58 kWh versions, and the top of the range model costs £39,290 – all including PiCG.

Performance figures see the smaller battery models cover the 0-62 mph time in 7.3 seconds, whilst the larger battery model is a little slower at 7.9 seconds. Charing is possible at up to 100 kW DC for 58 kWh packs, and 125 kW DC for 77 kWh models. All use a CCS inlet.

Order books open next week, with the first deliveries expected before the end of the month.
