The Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) and Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS) will alter as of 1st April, following similar alterations to other electric vehicle supporting grants from the Budget. The EVHS grant will drop from £500 to £350 for a fully installed home charge point, and the WCS grants will change to the same amount – £350 – per socket, again from £500.
The Office for Low Emission Vehicles (OLEV) has recognised that this will have an impact on a number of installations. To counter unexpected additional cost in the short term, there will be a transition phase, retaining pre-change funding levels for all EVHS orders placed before 12th March, and applies until 31st May.
Other than that, installations on or after 1st April 2020 for the EVHS grant, and voucher submissions for the WCS grant from the same date, will see the new £350 funding level per charge point or socket respectively.
