ChargePoint network costs
Stations powered by ChargePoint technology are independently owned, and each station owner or roaming partner decides how much it costs to use their stations.
Cost to charge ranges between 14.5p/kWh - 90p/kWh - depending on charger type and location.
How to use ChargePoint chargers
There are three ways to start a charging session at a ChargePoint station:
- Tap to charge. With the ChargePoint app installed, you can start a charging session on ChargePoint hardware by holding your phone over the reader symbol on the station.
- Start charging from the app. Choose the station and click the Start Charge button.
- Use your ChargePoint card. Just tap your activated ChargePoint card on the card reader symbol on the station.
Connect the charging cable to your vehicle and, if necessary, to the charging station. Check to make sure that your EV is charging.
When charging is finished, just unplug the cable from your vehicle and, if necessary, the station (press the stop charging button on the station if you’re fast charging).
Where are ChargePoint stations located?
ChargePoint stations can be found on Zapmap by using the network filter. This can be used on the desktop and mobile apps, and displays only those points powered by ChargePoint.
Charging types and speeds can be filtered too, showing only those points that are compatible with users’ cars.
Select 'Filters' -> 'Networks' -> 'ChargePoint' to view only ChargePoint stations.

How does ChargePoint compare to other networks in terms of pricing?

The price to charge an electric vehicle (EV) on the public charging network can vary substantively, and prices are increasing due to current issues in the energy market.
Updated on a monthly basis, the Zapmap Price Index shows the difference in prices paid depending on the type of charger and will also track how this is changing over time.
