There are three power outputs and two battery capacities available for the Enyaq iV in the UK. The standard charging speed available is 50 kW DC and 11 kW AC, though the larger battery packs have an option available for 125 kW DC, and the smaller batteries have a 100 kW DC option.

There are two configurations available:

Skoda’s official WLTP driving range for the Enyaq iV 60 is 256 miles on a charge. However, the maximum driving range available from the Enyaq iV range is 331 miles.

After 650 miles of testing, the Enyaq iV 60 was returning more than 220 miles on a charge, which included both faster and longer journeys, and a lack of serious effort for most of my time behind the wheel in attempting to drive economically. More frugal routes and driving saw that jump up to around 240 miles on a charge, and the worst I found was almost 190 miles.


The Skoda (VW Group) brake energy recuperation system us useful, efficient, and flexible. It doesn’t provide true ‘one-pedal’ driving, but it gets close on the strongest level of regen, but also allows for near coasting and a couple of levels in between, all controlled using paddles on the rear of the steering wheel.


Charging is available at up to 100 kW DC using CCS points, though the standard fitting is 50 kW. The larger battery models have the option to take that up to 125 kW, reducing charging times to around half an hour for either battery model on ultra-rapid units. AC charging is available at up to 11 kW.

Those expecting a performance-focused driving experience from the Enyaq iV 60 will be disappointed. Instead of blistering pace, the 0-62mph time of more than eight seconds is reasonable, rather than quick. Power comes from a 135 kW electric motor, but there are more powerful options available, including a twin-motor model, for those requiring more pace.

What’s the Skoda Enyaq iV like to drive?

Like the performance, the driving experience is not designed for those in a real hurry; though that’s not to say that it isn’t surprisingly agile or fun to drive. The Skoda is extremely comfortable and refined; it has a real feeling of solidity to everything.

Skoda’s mid-sized SUV is an ideal option for the traditional family workhorse; it’s practical and spacious inside. Boot space is good enough to deal with just about everything short of working as an antiques dealer’s delivery vehicle, and occupant space further forward is huge.

Design and functionality

The Enyaq iV’s cabin is nicely designed, with a clean and crisp dashboard, dominated by a large touchscreen system. The infotainment set-up looks good, but could be faster to respond when starting up, and has a few niggles to do with menu and function lay-out. Otherwise, the controls are sensible to use, with some nice touches such as the rotary controls on the steering wheel.

There are three trim levels to the Enyaq iV range. Fitted to the entry-level Loft model tested are:

Although it’s in a competitive market – there are a fair few mid-sized electric SUVs around – the Enyaq iV stands out. It’s all very Skoda in approach – excellent product at reasonable money for brilliant value. It’s not budget, but it’s competitively priced, with good levels of kit and practicality, combined with a decent range in the entry level Enyaq iV 60, and a very good range for the Enyaq iV 80.
